AI and Data Governance in Africa

AUDA-NEPAD, in partnership with Research ICT Africa, is launching an intensive programme on AI and Data Governance in Africa.
The course on Data and AI governance in Africa provides a concise, high-impact pathway to understanding these challenges and opportunities, tailored specifically for the African context. The course kicks off with a four-module programme, designed to provide participants with a practical and policy-relevant overview of Africa’s data and AI governance landscape:
● Module 1: African Data Governance Landscape – 25 March 2026
● Module 2: Data Regulation and Institutions – 1 April 2026
● Module 3: The Challenge of AI Governance – 8 April 2026
● Module 4: Just AI Governance in Africa – 15 April 2026
The course is delivered in English, with captions available in French, Portuguese, Arabic, and Spanish.
This school represents a unique opportunity for senior officials to deepen their understanding of how Africa can harness AI and data while protecting public interest, promoting equity, and strengthening governance frameworks. AUDA-NEPAD and RIA will bestow certificates on participants who complete the course.
