Join Masakhane African Languages Hub as Program Manager for Applied Language AI Programs

Masakhane is a pan-African initiative addressing the underrepresentation of African languages in AI and natural language processing (NLP). The Masakhane African Languages Hub develops open-source datasets, models, and use cases to drive inclusive AI solutions across healthcare, education, and agriculture, aiming to empower over 1 billion Africans by 2029.
The Program Manager will lead the Hub’s Applied Language AI portfolio, overseeing projects that enhance women’s livelihoods, inclusion, and empowerment across Africa. They will coordinate multi-country grantees, ensure timely delivery, foster knowledge exchange, and support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) across the Hub’s programs.
Qualifications: 5+ years managing development or research programs, proficiency in English and French, familiarity with African NLP or AI for social impact, and experience in gender-responsive, participatory approaches.
