Emily Muller is the Principal Investigator of a project supporting the Deep Learning Indaba, a flagship initiative strengthening the African machine learning and AI community. The Indaba hosts annual conferences that empower Africans to be active shapers of AI, bridging the gap between global technological advances and local expertise. The project promotes responsible AI innovation, expands access to AI education and research, and supports underrepresented groups through scholarships, an “Ideathon” program, and multi-year sustainability planning.
