Idrissa Sarr

Idrissa Sarr is the Principal Investigator of the Data Innovation Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Senegal. The development of artificial intelligence (AI) across Africa faces several challenges that must be addressed to enable its effective adoption in support of sustainable development. These include significant gaps in data availability, limited technical skills, and a shortage of AI innovations in critical sectors such as agriculture, health, the environment, and transport.

The Data Innovation Centre for AI aims to help address these gaps in Senegal and across the region by fostering multidisciplinary collaboration among experts and practitioners in data science, AI, agriculture, health, and environmental research
