Jerry John Kponyo

Dr. Jerry John Kponyo is the Principal Investigator of the Responsible AI Lab (RAIL) which focuses on advancing responsible AI in sub-Saharan Africa by addressing critical gaps in skills and capacity. RAIL develops AI tools to support research and innovation across computer, biomedical, agricultural, and ecological sciences, as well as assistive technologies for differently abled persons. The project strengthens researchers’ capacities, fosters safe deployment of AI services, promotes public-private collaboration, and encourages greater participation of women in technology through outreach programs.
