Rachel Adams

Rachel Adams, PhD is the Principal Investigator of the African Observatory on Responsible AI II (AORAI II), alongside Fola Adeleke, and is the Founder and CEO of the Global Centre on AI Governance. AORAI works through research, policy engagement, and capacity strengthening to advance responsible AI governance across the continent. Rachel advises UNESCO, the UN, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Global Partnership on AI, was a lead drafter of the African Union's Continental AI Strategy, and authored The New Empire of AI: The Future of Global Inequality (Polity Press, 2025).
