Dr. Ricardo Baptista Leite is the Principal Investigator of Health AI’s project on Building Regulatory Mechanisms for Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Health in Africa. The initiative develops country-led frameworks to ensure AI systems in health are safe, effective, and trustworthy. It strengthens local regulatory capacity through training, technical support, and collaboration with policymakers, regulators, and AI researchers to co-create practical tools and foster sustainable regulatory ecosystems.
