Tegawendé Bissyandé

Tegawendé F. Bissyandé is the Principal Investigator of CITADEL 2.0, the Center of Interdisciplinary Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Development, hosted at Université Virtuelle du Burkina Faso. A Professor at the University of Luxembourg working at the intersection of software engineering and AI, his research spans program analysis and software security to the evaluation of large language models. CITADEL 2.0 works to close the AI skills gap across sub-Saharan Africa, developing applied AI research in health, languages, education, and agriculture, while training the next generation of AI professionals and helping shape AI policy grounded in local needs. With roots in West Africa and a career built across international research institutions, Prof. Bissyandé remains especially committed to building AI research capacity and mentoring early-career researchers across the continent.
