The African Growth and AI Network (AGAIN) is a flagship AI4D initiative that brings together leading African research institutions to generate the evidence needed to understand how artificial intelligence is transforming economies, livelihoods, and inequality across the continent. Through a coordinated, multi-country research network, AGAIN will produce high-quality, open datasets and policy-relevant research on AI adoption and its impacts on labour markets, productivity, and economic inclusion. The initiative aims to strengthen African research capacity while supporting governments and regional bodies with the evidence required to design inclusive AI and economic policies that promote sustainable growth and resilience.
