Overview
Communicable respiratory diseases accelerated by air pollution, climate shifts, and fragile health infrastructure pose an escalating threat to communities across the Global South. For the populations most exposed, those living near industrial zones, in dense urban settlements, or with pre-existing conditions, late detection translates directly into preventable deaths and overwhelmed health systems.
The project deploys an AI-powered early detection system that draws on integrated datasets spanning air-pollution indices, epidemiological records, clinical data, atmospheric conditions, and satellite imagery. Cost-effective IoT sensors provide real-time environmental monitoring, while predictive AI models and community-facing alert tools extend early warning capacity. The system is designed for contexts where health infrastructure is stretched thin prioritising accessible, actionable information for the communities most at risk.
