HERA AI - Predictive Health Interface 

Overview

For Syrian refugee women in southeast Türkiye, accessing reliable sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information means navigating a tangle of stigma, disrupted services, and digital barriers that most health systems were never designed to address. AMTI (Predictive Care Navigator), developed by MEDAK in partnership with HERA Digital Health, was built for exactly this gap.

AMTI is an AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot that delivers the full functionality of a mobile health app pregnancy tracking, vaccination records, health-facility navigation, and SRH education — without requiring users to download anything. By meeting women on a platform they already use, it removes barriers tied to smartphone storage, data costs, and low literacy. The underlying model is grounded exclusively in verified clinical sources, including the WHO Minimum Initial Service Package and the ASRH Toolkit, and adopts the culturally resonant voice of a trusted community elder to make sensitive conversations feel approachable rather than clinical.

The results are already translating into measurable care. By November 2025, AMTI had reached nearly 2,500 unique users across almost 4,500 substantive conversations with nearly half centred on core SRH and maternal health topics. Beyond information, it functioned as a practical navigator: supporting hundreds of health-facility searches, vaccine checks, pregnancy registrations, and child profiles. Post-interaction surveys found that more than half of respondents reported improved health awareness and had followed up with in-person services.
